Hi friends! Today I wanted to talk about a huge goal of mine: to live on a sailboat and travel around the world. This is actually a new-ish life goal of mine, though. My boyfriend has been wanting to sell everything, quit his job, and move onto a sailboat and sail around the world for quite some time now and I always thought, “yea sure, that sounds interesting I guess”. But after watching all of these YouTube vloggers who actually sold everything, quit their jobs, and now live full-time on a sailboat and sail around the world, I am so envious and inspired to do the same!

You might be picturing a rinky-dink houseboat off the coast of Galveston, but I assure you, these sailboats are no joke. Imagine a small house with a rooftop deck, but inside of a boat. Cruising sailboats have a top deck in the open air with a covered section to hang out and get some shade and below the deck, there is the cabin, consisting of a full kitchen (fridge, cabinets, pantry, oven, stove, sink, sometimes a microwave, counter space, etc.), a living room/dining room area with seating and a table to eat, a master bedroom, and one or two full bathrooms. In fact, most cruising sailboats have a few different bedrooms, or at least two bedrooms, and we’ve even seen some sailboats with four bedrooms and one with an open cabin and 11 bunk beds!! I would probably turn one of the bedrooms into a closet while we weren’t hosting any guests aboard! 😉

The boats we are interested in are monohull sailboats or catamaran sailboats between 30 and 65 feet long. The boat itself will probably cost between $20,000 to $300,000 and if it needs any upgrades or improvements it can cost a lot more. So basically, we would sell our cars, sell our house or rent it out, sell our furniture and liquidate everything we can’t bring onto the boat with us. And then we would move onto the boat like moving into a new house and sail all over the world for the next 5 to 10 years or just however long we feel like it!

Imagine spending life sailing around, visiting islands and different countries and just exploring the world and getting tan while you do it! Does it get much better?!

Becoming a full-time blogger is the first step in making this life goal to live on a sailboat and travel the world happen. And then once we make the move onto the boat, I would then document life on the sailboat, travel guides for everywhere we dock and visit, different fashion all over the world, and so on! Basically I would just migrate my blogging from land to sea and then different land all over the world, haha!

So why am I bringing all of this up? Well I recently partnered with Wanderlust + Co jewelry and they sent me a beautiful 14k gold Como Charm necklace featuring sea-inspired charms and it made this goal of living on a sailboat so much more exciting and really motivated me to make this goal a reality! The necklace features five petite charms: a conch shell, a scallop shell, a starfish, a piece of coral, and a cowrie shell. I’ve been layering it with my Kendra Scott Watson Y Bolo necklace or with my Gorjana Chloe mini choker. And it’s perfect timing because Summer is just around the corner and this necklace is going to look great with a swimsuit or a beachy, maxi dress!

So there is my rant about my life goal to live on a sailboat someday and sail around the world and the perfect necklace that represents that dream! If you ask my boyfriend, he will tell you all about it and explain all of the financial and technical details behind it. But i just like the idea of not working in an office and just sailing around the world, visiting awesome islands and countries and every beach in the world!
