I went to Home Goods over the weekend and came back with some amazing home decor and for super cheap too! I just recently moved into my boyfriend’s house with him and I went from having to only decorate a small one bedroom apartment, to decorating a giant three bedroom house. I’ve never had my own dining room to decorate or a guest bedroom, so I knew I was going to be making a lot of home decor purchases. Luckily, Home Goods is super affordable and always has amazing stuff so I was able to get a lot without breaking the bank.

I had a lot of decor from my apartment, which I dispersed around the house but it definitely was not enough. There’s an entryway, dining room, living room, office, master bedroom, guest bedroom, laundry room, kitchen, guest bath, and master bath. And some hallways and a front porch and a back porch. That’s a lot of decor ground to cover! I’ve mostly been focused on the kitchen, living room, and dining room and decorating those rooms first because those are the rooms we spend most of our time in plus those are the rooms that guests see when we have people over. So most of the Home Goods decor I bought are going into those rooms.

I bought this round, gold, mirrored tray for the kitchen table. It has the gold, Greek meander pattern around the edge that I think brings a nice textural element to the kitchen. The kitchen walls are going to be painted Sherwin-Williams “Mindful Gray” (like the rest of the house) and the cabinets are going to be white. The appliances are all white right now, the tile floor is white, and the backsplash is going to be white and gray marble. So since that’s going to be a lot of gray and white in there, I want to add a lot of mixed metals and gold decor into the kitchen to  give it some color while still keeping it neutral.

I also bought this goldish bronze fruit basket because I always keep bananas in the kitchen and I’ve just been throwing them askew on the counter lately so I figure it was time to be an adult and buy a fruit basket. And it’s another mixed metal piece to add to the decor!

And to stay in the mixed metal theme I have going, I also bought this brushed gold/bronze cookbook holder to hold my recipes while I cook. And because it’s cute and matches the decor. I might not always keep a cookbook in it, I might put a picture frame in there instead. I haven’t decided yet.

I also bought this brass canister (left) to go in the kitchen. I think I’m going to put flour in it and leave it on the counter as decor, but also useful holding the flour so my boyfriend doesn’t get all crabby that we have stuff on the counter not being used haha! Men…

I’m not entirely sure where this is going to go yet, but I also bought the cement and gold candle pictured above with the canister. I figured it will probably end up on the “window seat” in our master bedroom. My boyfriend suggested that we put a cushion on the window seat and actually use it as a window seat and I asked him if this was a nice house or a trailer home in 1990? We could put one or two pillows on it and maybe a fur throw but when I think of a cushioned window seat I think of a red or green plaid cushion that you would find in your Great Aunt’s house haha! I wanted to decorate this window seat as a kind of relaxed and romantic area. Just some candles and a fur throw and maybe one or two pillows on it. Nothing crazy covering every inch of space on here with decor, just very minimalist.

And finally, I’ve been super obsessed with orchids lately, especially pink or purple ones, so I bought this faux orchid (I named it forchid) and I’m going to put it on the window seat in the bathroom to tie in the pink Lara Stone lip painting and my pink Chanel perfume paintings. We still haven’t decided on what color to paint the bathroom yet but maybe if I decorate it first, the wall color will kind of pick itself, right?

So there’s my most recent Home Goods haul and it only cost me $73 total! I’ll definitely be going back to Home Goods a lot in the future and I’m sure I’ll post more and more blogs about all of my Home Goods hauls, so stay tuned!

P.s. Unfortunately, Home Goods doesn’t list their products on their website but I’ve found a couple of dupes on amazon if you’re looking for something particular!
