What to Pack for a Ski Trip

Hi beauties! So, the boyfriend and I are going on a ski trip to Colorado next week! His family owns a house in Colorado so he has spent a lot of time snowboarding and acclimating to the snowy mountain. I on the other hand, spent a lot of time at the beach acclimating to the warm sunny weather. So packing for a ski trip is not something that I am super used to. I figured it is best to over-pack and not need stuff than to under-pack and need stuff that I did not bring! So here is my list of what to pack for a ski trip!

Some details about the trip:

  1. We are renting a van and carpooling there (so I need to bring anti-car-sickness meds and comfy road trip clothes)
  2. We are staying in a private house that has a hot tub (so I need to bring “hanging out at the house clothes”, swimsuits, and shoes for back-and-forth to the hottub)
  3. We might go to some of the bars and restaurants (so I need to bring going-out clothes and shoes)
  4. We’re going to be there for an entire week (so I need to bring A LOT of clothes and everything else)
  5. There’s going to be 6 of us going and staying in the house (so I need to bring entertainment in case we get bored)

Here’s a breakdown of what I’m bringing:

ski bib/overalls & ski jacket
thick leggings for underneath bib
waterproof boots, warm boots, & slippers for the house

For the skiing/snowboarding:

  • Ski gloves – ordered from Amazon because they need to be waterproof
  • Ski goggles – ordered from Amazon because I don’t want to rent
  • Warm leggings
  • Ski pants/bib – ordered from Amazon because they need to be waterproof
  • Long sleeve t-shirts
  • Ski jacket – ordered from Amazon because it needs to be waterproof
  • Regular socks (bottom layer)
  • Ski socks (middle layer) – borrowed from boyfriend’s sister
  • Ugg boots (top layer – going to and from the mountain before I put ski boots on)
  • Mouth and nose cover – ordered from amazon, apparently your lips will get really chapped from windchill #NoThanks
  • Ear covers
  • Beanies
  • Scarves
  • Flask – I’ll definitely need some liquid courage
games, ski gloves, goggles, & supps to keep me on health track
lots o’ socks
yoga pants and lounge clothes for the house
swimsuits & sandals for the hot springs

For hanging out at the house:

  • Swimsuits – for the hot tub
  • Sandals – for running to and from hot tub
  • Cheetah onesie – mostly for sh*ts and giggles but also because it’s warm
  • House slippers
  • Sweatshirts
  • Sweatpants / joggers
  • Cute leggings (athleisure)
  • Cute tops and pullovers (athleisure)
  • Duck boots – waterproof for playing in the snow
  • Rain boots – also for going outside
  • Pajamas
  • Sexy outfits for boyfriend 😉 – it is a romantic trip to the mountains after all
  • FireTV Stick – in case we all are bored and want to watch a movie (I jailbroke mine and downloaded Kodi so we can watch new movies still in theaters)
  • Game of Thrones Monopoly – we turned it into a drinking game 😉
  • Uno cards – also turned it into a drinking game
  • Deck of cards
  • Laundry detergent
  • Weight loss supplements – I’m serious about my health goals so I’m staying on track while on vacation!!
  • Book to read in case of waiting times/chill times

I figured since the mountains close at about 4pm, we’ll have A LOT of time leftover in the day to hangout at the house. Yes, we’ll be drinking and making/eating dinner, but there will still be a lot of time to kill. And some nights we’ll go out to dinner or to a bar/nightlife area, but it’s an entire week so I like having backup entertainment in case not everyone wants to play drinking games and what not!

two pairs of jeans and long-sleeve t-shirts

For going out:

  • Jeans
  • Over-the-knee boots
  • Cute sweater
  • Small purse
  • Lipstick
robe for getting ready & scarves
cute tops, sweatpants, and new joggers for the house
bringing the green coat b/c it’s the warmest
beanies & ear warmers

Necessities:

  • Bras
  • Panties
  • Socks
  • Gloves
  • Scarves
  • Beanies
  • Glasses
  • Sunglasses
  • Contact case
  • Contact solution
  • Extra contacts in case I lose or rip one
  • Tampons
  • Prescriptions
  • Hair brush
  • Shampoo & conditioner
  • Skincare products
  • Soap
  • Razor
  • Makeup
  • Makeup remover wipes
  • Toothbrush & toothpaste
  • Curling iron
  • Blowdryer
  • Flat iron
  • Hairspray
  • Hair styling products
  • Perfume
  • Deodorant
  • Jewelry – just everyday, casual jewelry, nothing fancy
  • Big coats
  • Phone charger
  • Throw blanket – for car ride and in case it’s cold inside the house or sitting out on the porch
  • Robe – for getting ready

When we get there, I’ll be renting the skis and snowboard and the helmet and whatever else I need but forgot to buy/pack. And we’ll also be buying food, drinks, and alcohol once we all get there so everyone can pitch in and decide what all we need together. Since snow is wet, it’s not very wise to bring nice stuff since it will all most likely get dirty. I though about bringing my cute faux leopard print coat for when we go out but then I thought about it getting all wet and soggy and dirty if I take it off and set it down somewhere. So I’d rather save that for a non-rainy (snowy) day!

I’m really looking forward to this trip! This is my first time trying to snowboard so this will be a very new experience for me. I’ll probably write a post-trip blog post about what all I shouldn’t have packed or what I should have packed but didn’t. So stay tuned my friends!!! I’ll also be posting pics from the trip on Instagram and updates on Twitter so follow me and keep up with updates and stories!
